Nolan Company has more than 25 years of experience in performing projects in industrial farms, supplying various kinds of equipment and machineries and milking systems for farms. In an attempt to meet the requirements of environmental standards, Nolan has recently started to provide customers with waste water treatment systems, especially on the waste water coming out of the separator.

Having entered the era of technology and with higher demands on food for the growing global population, traditional farms have been rapidly replaced with modern industrial farms and farming has become one of the most profitable industries of the world.

Our country is not an exception and in comparison to other countries, growth of livestock products is a proof on this claim. Though, like other forms of industry, production brings about waste material, whose correct method of dumping, according to the standards of Iran Department of Environment, has always been of great concern to manufacturers.

Of various forms of waste, waste water is the most common in farms. In order to design an effective waste water treatment system, the place where water is consumed and the sector where the waste water can be used should be checked and the waste water treatment plant shall finally be designed with focus on quantity and quality of the waste water produced and with attention to the required degree of purification.

Industrial farms are among industries with very high rates of pollutants, with waste water COD in some cases more than 35000 ppm, while its environmental standard rate is 100 ppm. Meanwhile, the suspended particles sometimes reach 10000 ppm, while its standard rate is 200 ppm. So, this industry is seriously in need of waste water treatment plants, though equipment used for separating manure and water (Separators) make fundamental physical changes to the sewage, and change it to a special kind which requires new methods for treatment.

Water consumption and waste water production in farms:

Waste water is produced in industrial farms in different qualities and quantities:

  • Drinking water for cattle
  •  Washing  milking machine
  •  Wet spray
  •  Washing calf boxes and breeding wards
  • Washing the milking machine
  • Washing calf boxes and breeding wards
  • Washing free stalls with flushing system

Nolan is now ready to offer engineering services for waste water treatment systems in farms across the country.
